Labotek and Movacolor have joined forces on the MDS Balance Drydose, which the companies bill as a one-of-a-kind system that combines material drying and precise additive dosing in a single compact unit. The unit will make its debut at K 2025.
The machine builders say Drydose accommodates the growing trend of drying additives prior to processing due to increasing quality requirements, materials of biological origin, specialty engineered plastics and the need to further reduce quality risks.
Drying materials directly within the dosing unit at the machine inlet is said to ensure optimal moisture control and remove the need for additional drying equipment. This integrated approach enhances product consistency, reduces waste and energy consumption, and improves overall production efficiency, according to the companies.
